This time, we will be introducing a review of
the MG 1/100 Sinanju Stein (Narrative Ver.) !

MG 1/100 Sinanju Stein (Narrative Ver.) is a 1/100 scale model kit of the MS “Sinanju Stein” that appears in “Mobile Suit Gundam NT”. Based on the MG Sinanju Stein, the distinctive engraving is sculpted with new parts. It comes with weapons such as a grenade launcher that can be attached to the shield and a high beam rifle that can be combined with a bazooka, and has gimmicks in each part that are unique to MG, making it a kit with precision. The price is 8,100 yen (tax included).

Based on the MG Sinanju Stein Ver.Ka (hereinafter referred to as Ver.Ka) released in 2013, the chest, wrist engravings, high beam rifle, shield, etc. have been newly created and this has been made into a kit as the Narrative Ver.

The exterior is a deeper, more blue-grey color than the MG Sinanju Stein Ver.Ka, while the joints and internal structure are brown-toned, a color unique to the Narrative Ver.

Some parts are covered with foil stickers, and the engravings are molded, but each part is color-coded with stickers.

The internal frame itself has the same structure as the MG Sinanju Ver.Ka released in 2008, but is made entirely of PS material. It feels a little weak in terms of strength, but it is very flexible. It is equipped with flexible thrusters on its back, but this does not affect its ability to stand on its own, and the soles of its feet are highly grounded, making it stable.

Head. It is a Sinanju type without an antenna. The shape is the same as Ver.Ka. It is a combination of multiple parts, but there are also parts that are sandwiched between the left and right, so there is a seam at the back of the head.

The groove is deep, so the twin eyes are set quite far back. The twin eyes are red and color-coded with stickers. They are made of clear parts and are molded, so you can paint them differently.

The chest is made up of multiple thin parts, each color-coded to create a unique shape.

The engraving is color-coded using foil stickers, but the mold is also carved into the model and water transfer decals are included, so you can paint it or use decals as you prefer.

The cockpit hatch can be deployed.

Inside, a dome-shaped all-around monitor is sculpted out of clear parts, and the cockpit seat is also sculpted in. There is no pilot in the seat, and no Zoltan figure is included.

The waist area. The armor is sculpted with a wide area, and the ducts and other internal parts are color-coded in detail.

The rear armor has a latch that opens so that the bazooka can be suspended. There are no slits or other ducts inside the lower part of the armor.

The back of the waist armor is made of backing parts and is mechanically sculpted. The crotch area has a front-back sliding gimmick, allowing the legs to move flexibly back and forth.

Arms. Based on the Sinanju model, but with a square shape for Stein. Multiple parts are combined and the colors are well-coded. There are seams on the upper arms, but it may be fine to leave them as part of the mold.

The engraving is color-coded with stickers, just like the chest part. It also has molding. The engraving parts are a left and right sandwiching type, so there are seams, but they can be hidden by sticking stickers, and since this part is removable, it seems like it will be easy to remove the seams.

The hand parts are emotion manipulators. Although they are somewhat weak, they are flexible and realistic when moving. The palms of the hands are also sculpted with retractable dowels for weapon mounts. The ball joints on the wrists are stiff, so turning the hand parts may cause them to twist off, so you need to hold the base firmly before turning them.

The forearm armor can be deployed and the saber hilt can be stored inside.

The arms have an internal frame sculpted.

The shoulder armor is made of multiple parts with no seams. The inside is molded as well, and small movable armor is also molded on the sides.

The legs. Although they are slender, they are mechanically shaped by combining multiple parts.

The backs of the knees are also sculpted in detail. The insides of the ducts are also color-coded as separate parts.

The thrusters at the rear are deployed in two places. Inside, the verniers are molded as separate parts. The thrusters on the sides are also deployed by the arms at the base. Backing parts are also molded.

The legs also have an internal frame.

The ducts under the thrusters are separate parts and color-coded with red stickers around the edges.

The part below the ankle. It is more angular and wider than the Sinanju. There are no seams as it is made up of multiple parts. The soles of the feet are also finely sculpted.

It has movable gimmicks that allow the center to bend and the toes to move up and down, allowing it to flexibly respond to things like the kit’s contact with the ground.

Backpack. The shape is unchanged from Ver.Ka, but it is equipped with a longer propellant tank.

The backpack is fixed by inserting the dowels and lowering it. The fixing strength is decent, and it can be attached and removed smoothly without putting any strain on the kit.

The verniers are color-coded with red parts, but since they are difficult to remove, they have not been installed with consideration for painting them later.

Each part of the flexible thruster is connected with a ball joint, so each part, such as the upper armor, the base of the propellant tank, and the base of the vernier, can move precisely.

It is highly flexible, as it can be deployed left and right and rotated up and down. However, since it is made of PS material, it is weak in terms of strength and some parts are easily removed, so please be careful.

Lined up with the MG GM Command (Colony Warfare Spec), MG Enhanced Double Zeta Gundam Ver.Ka, and HG Ground Type GM. It is even larger than the Double Zeta, which is by far the largest of the MG models. By the way, the height of the Double Zeta is 19.86m (total height 21.11m), while the Sinanju Stein is 22.6m (total height). *There is no mention of the height of the Sinanju Stein. I don’t have the MG Sinanju Stein Ver.Ka on hand, so I couldn’t compare them m(_ _)m

Compared to the HGUC Sinanju Stein (right image), there are no major differences in the shape, but there seems to be some differences in the shape and thickness of the chest and shoulders.

The head can only move so much when pulling the chin in because it interferes with the movement, but it can still move up to a reasonable degree. The collar interferes with the movement to the left and right, so it was difficult to move it all the way to the side. I managed to get it to the size shown in the picture, but I’m worried about the scratches when I paint it.

The arms can be raised to about a Y shape. The elbows can also be folded completely.

The shoulders do not move very far backwards, but can swing widely forward thanks to the pull-out gimmick in the shoulders.

The abdomen does not move much, so the upper body can only move slightly back and forth.

The waist can be rotated 360 degrees. Attach the included mount parts to the crotch area and display it on an action base. The mounting strength is high, so even though it is a large kit, it can be displayed without any problems.

Both the front and rear armor are movable, so the legs can be spread out quite widely. The waist armor, including the side armor, is not firmly attached, so it does loosen, but it’s not particularly easy to come off.

The knees can also be bent quite deeply, with the knee joints showing the mechanical movement that is unique to MG.

The ankles don’t have a wide range of movement forward or backward, but the soles and toes can move to a certain extent, so it should be possible to express a certain amount of movement.

The legs can be raised all the way to the side. Be careful as the side armor may come off due to interference.

The knees and bowlegs can move beyond horizontal.

You can also kneel with perfect posture.
In terms of overall range of motion, I think each part is quite flexible and excellent. As expected, the mobility makes full use of the MG part configuration. Since I just got it, the strength is quite high, but since it is made of PS material, there is some play in the poses and it is difficult to create sharpness, which is a concern. I am a little concerned that it may become worn out and become weak, and that the waist armor etc. may interfere and come off easily. But overall I think it is a very good kit.

Includes a shield, bazooka, grenade launcher, high beam rifle, two beam sabre blades, weapon holder (right), and action base mount parts.

In addition, a large number of surplus internal and external parts from the MG Sinanju and MG Sinanju Stein Ver.Ka are included. Since all the Ver.Ka parts are included, you can assemble it as a color variation of the same type as the Ver.Ka. The high beam rifle for the Ver.Ka is also included as is.

Includes engraved water transfer decals.
Marking stickers are also included.

(Rocket) Bazooka. It is the same as the one included with the MG Sinanju Stein Ver.Ka. It is a combination of multiple parts and has a very mechanical shape. There are some seams.

Some of the armor and foregrip are movable. The sensor needs to be painted. The grip on the bottom is also movable. The grip has a retractable dowel, so it can be inserted into the handle and held firmly.

The magazine rack at the rear is movable and magazines can be stored.

The barrel can be extended or retracted.
The bazooka can be hung on the rear armor. It’s hard to understand how to secure it in place in the instructions, but you can secure it by inserting the square dowel of the bazooka into the dowel hole at the bottom of the rack. The top of the rack just needs to be supported by covering it.

High beam rifle. The Sinanju beam rifle is made up of multiple exterior parts that are fitted together, meaning there are no seams between them.

Therefore, by combining it with surplus sensor parts, you can also recreate the standard Sinanju beam rifle.

The shield is a new design, separate from the Ver.Ka one. Both the front and back are color-coded by separate parts.
Grenade launcher. It is the same as the one that comes with the Sinanju. There are some seams.

It has a movable gimmick and the muzzle is open.

The grenade launcher can be mounted on the high beam rifle or shield.

A bazooka can also be mounted on the high beam rifle.

It is heavily armed with a full range of weapons. It is a large kit with flexible joints, but the weapons are held firmly in place, so there doesn’t seem to be much stress when posing it.

The high beam rifle can be clamped with the included fixed handle, which is also dowel-fixed to the grip, so it can be held firmly. The arms can also hold it without succumbing to its weight. However, if you mount a bazooka on the high beam rifle, the weight will cause your shoulders and elbows to sag, making it difficult to support.

The kit’s shape and the fine details are excellent, so posing is easy and impressive. Be careful, though, because sometimes the crotch area can slip out when the legs are spread apart.

The bazooka is held in place by combining the movable dowel on the grip with the palm dowel on the emotion manipulator. The emotion manipulator feels a little weak, but it holds the weapon firmly and does not fall out.

I think that holding the bazooka under your arm will allow for smoother posing without interference, rather than carrying it on your shoulder. If you carry it on your arm, be careful because the magazine rack will interfere with the shoulder armor.

The shoulders and elbows are flexible, so it’s easy to hold the bazooka with both hands. The emotion manipulator feels weak in some places, and because it’s a large kit, the action base is prone to wobbling, so posing it may be a little difficult.

The beam sabers can also be held securely in place using the movable dowel on the hilt and the dowel on the emotion manipulator.

The modeling is detailed and the kit is large, so it has a good sense of presence. It is very attractive that just a little movement can produce powerful poses. The modeling may be inferior to the more glamorous Gundam type, but even with the subdued coloring, the kit is surprisingly cool.
One drawback is that it is a large kit made of PS material, which makes it slightly weak in terms of strength. The waist armor may wobble, and the crotch may come loose when the legs are moved. The action base may also wobble due to the weight, so posing may be difficult in this regard.
Still, the fixed handles for holding the weapons are compensated for, so there is no stress, and the attention to detail can be seen in the figure. The kit has a great sense of modeling, and I think you will be able to fully appreciate the unique qualities of the MG.
