The Witch from Mercury Weapon Display Base Review

This time, we will be reviewing The Witch from Mercury Weapon Display Base !

The Mercury Witch Weapon Display Base is a weapon display base that can display the Gambit used in the movie Mobile Suit Gundam: The Mercury Witch. By combining it with the HG Mercury Witch series kit (sold separately), you can recreate the Gambit deployment image just like in the movie. Joint parts that can be connected to the separately sold action base are also included. The price is 550 yen (tax included).

Accessories include 3 long supports, 3 short supports, 6 cylindrical joint parts, 2 pentagonal bottom plates, joint parts for the bottom plates, and various joint parts for the HG Mercury Witch series kits (2 types for Gundam Aerial, 4 types for Gundam Rubris, 2 for Daril Balde, 2 for Gundam Falact). If you want to display all of the HG Gundam Aerial Gambits, you will need 2 sets of this Weapon Display Base.

There are no stickers. The molding color is transparent and there are many small parts for the joints, so be careful not to lose the parts.

Pentagonal base plate part. There are three 3.0mm holes on the base plate, so you can attach the included support parts. Joint holes are molded on the three sides of the back side so that the bases can be connected together.

By using the included joint parts, you can connect the bottom plate parts together to form a hexagon.

By changing the connecting points, you can create angles, and by connecting the six bottom plates (three sets) side by side, it seems possible to form a large hexagon.

It can also be connected to the bottom plate of the Action Base. The molding color of the Action Base is slightly whitish and clear, while this is colorless and completely clear.

The support poles come in two lengths and can be linked together to create any length or angle you want.

The angle of the tip of the support can be changed using a 3.0mm shaft joint.

Six cylindrical joint parts are included. Since they are cylindrical with 3.0mm holes, you can display several types of Gambits (with 3.0mm shafts) from the HG Gundam Aerial.

In addition, two types of square joint parts for the HG Gundam Aerial (sold separately) are included, allowing you to display different shaped Gambits. Use them in combination with the cylindrical parts mentioned above.

If you pull out all the parts, you can display up to six Gundam Aerial Gambits. This alone is enough to create an impressive display.

By the way, there are a total of 11 Aerial Gambits, so to display them all, you will need two sets of this Weapon Display Base. (For the flat hands, I used the one that came with the HG MiraSoul Flight Unit Equipment .)

The support parts can also be attached to the bottom plate of the action base.

By attaching the pedestal parts, the display area of the action base will be expanded, allowing you to position the Gambit without interfering with the pose of the kit.

Three types of joint parts for the HG Gundam Lubris (sold separately) are included. These are also used in combination with cylindrical joint parts.

The larger joint part has joints on the front and back, so two different shaped Lubris gambits can be assembled with just one part.

Two types of L-shaped joint parts can also be assembled to fit the shape of the Lubris Gambit.

The hexagonal Gambit can be displayed by attaching joint parts for the shield.

Up to four of Lubris’ Gambits can be displayed. If you want to display all seven of Lubris’ Gambits together, you will need two sets of this Weapon Display Base.

If you separate the base, you can display Gambit at a slight distance.

It would be interesting to try to create a scene where Gambit is used for defense.

The joint parts are combined with great strength, so it can withstand heavy weight even when displayed as a shield.

Two slightly elongated joint parts are included for the HG Daryl Balde (sold separately).

This can be attached to the joint of the support without using a cylindrical joint part. The Ishvara drone unit (A and B types) of Darilvalde can be attached without interference.

In addition, the shoulder drones and Shaklucrow can all be displayed as normal.

While it was originally possible to display it using Good Smile Company’s stand or action base, using this joint part prevents interference and allows you to display the Ishvara Drone at any angle you like.

Two joint parts for the HG Gundam Falact (sold separately) are included. These joint parts have a distinctive shape that matches the Falact’s Gambit.

Disassemble the two-layered Falakt Gambit and assemble the two. It seems that it is not possible to display them in a two-layered state.

Two joint parts are included, so it is possible to arrange the Gambit “Koraki” so that they form a pair.

In the case of Falakt, you will need two sets of this Weapon Display Base to display all of the Korakis. This time I was only able to get one set, so when I get another set I’ll try to take pictures of all the gambits deployed.

It was not possible to display the HGUC Qubeley’s funnels or the HGUC Nu Gundam’s fin funnels, but with a bit of ingenuity it was possible to display the HGCE Strike Freedom Gundam’s Dragoons.

However, this Weapon Display Base only comes with one joint part, so you will need eight sets of this Weapon Display Base to recreate all of the Dragoon launch states. Some of the Cherudim’s shield bits can also be displayed, but it’s a bit tricky. From what I’ve seen, it’s best to only use it with the HG Mercury Witch series kits.

Please feel free to take a few.

This concludes the review of the Witch of Mercury Weapon Display Base. Next is the package and runner review.

The packaging is the same type as the display stands (assembly kits) for the Action Base, wrapped in vinyl. I’m not sure I’d ever see these hanging on hooks on a display shelf…

Instructions. It’s more accurate to call it a display method rather than an assembly method, and apart from simple assembly, it also includes instructions on how to display the Gambit and drone.

BA-G runner. The bottom plate, prop, and various joint parts are integrated into a single runner.

The display of gambits is sometimes insufficient for the HG Mercury Witch series kits alone, but by using this weapon display base, you can reproduce all kinds of gambits and drones in the ejection state. Although we were not able to reproduce it this time, we think it is a great way to reproduce attack and defense scenes with all the gun bits deployed on the aerial and lubris.

There are few points of concern. It is lightweight and compact, making it easy to handle, and its solid strength makes it easy to display. The small size and flexible movement allows for easy adjustment of the direction of the gambits, and it is easy to reproduce the same direction for all of them.

It may be difficult to use it with funnels, dragons, shield bits, etc. from other series, but it can be used with almost anything that has a 3.0mm axis, and it is good to experiment with various ways to expand the range of display.
