the deluxe edition pamphlet for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Beginning

This time, we’ll be reviewing

the deluxe edition pamphlet for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Beginning !

When I went to the cinema to see “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Beginning”, I got the admission bonus and deluxe edition pamphlet, so I would like to give a quick review. Please note that this review contains spoilers, so please do not read it if you do not want to know. By the way, the price of the pamphlet is 1,200 yen (tax included) for the regular version and 3,000 yen (tax included) for the deluxe version
.

■ Benefits for visitors

First of all, as a special gift for visitors, we received an A5-sized key visual illustration card and a promotional card pack for the Arsenal Base. The promotional card pack also has a warning about spoilers; I went on the first day of release and was able to get one, but as soon as they’re gone, it’s gone, so if you want one, hurry up.

The promotional card was Sieg Axe. It is a hologram that shines brightly depending on the light or the angle you look at it from. The dog mark on the top right is probably the mark of the Pomeranians that belong to the clan battle. There seem to be two types of cards, one of which is Sieg Axe and the illustration is already released on the official website . The other type is not released.

The back side looks like this. I don’t think there are any major spoilers, but for those who want to watch it without any information, I think you should avoid information about Pomeranians.

Next is the key visual illustration card. The lines are detailed and it has a down-to-earth feel to it, making it cool and sophisticated. I’m looking forward to seeing how these three and Siegaxe will perform in the future.

■ Pamphlet (Deluxe Edition)

Next is the pamphlet (deluxe edition). The front side is a simple design with only the English and Japanese text “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Beginning”. “GQuuuuuuX” is a title that is quite difficult to read and write, but it is pronounced “Geku Axe”, and there are six “u’s”. It seems that the width of the “u’s” in the official title is gradually narrowing.

There is also a warning on the back, stating that it contains “spoilers.” The official SNS and all items for this work are designed to prevent spoilers, and I, as someone who has seen the work, think that it is best for first-time viewers to avoid knowing as much information as possible.

The deluxe edition contains two books: the regular edition pamphlet and a special booklet containing design illustrations, etc. This is probably the same as other Gundam works.

Now let me introduce you to the contents of the pamphlet.

[Warning!!] The contents of the pamphlet contain major spoilers, so if you haven’t seen the movie yet, you should definitely not read it…or rather, don’t read it!! If you read it, you’ll find out everything.

The first page describes the space colonies that exist in the world of Gundam as a matter of course. The poem-like content makes you feel excited and thrilled as the story begins.

The book includes story explanations and unit explanations. The green White Base (Sodon) is a fresh design, and the Zaku design is unique and interesting. There are many variations of the machine. The Military Police Zaku with kanji characters was also impressive.

The names of the facilities are also listed in detail, so it might be a good idea to read through it to get a better understanding of the story going forward. I was also impressed by the fact that something that looked like lunch was used in Shuji’s hideout.

And the timeline of the One Year War. Of course, it’s not the official history of 1st, but a timeline in the parallel world of Sieg Axe. The mobile armor used by Sharia Bull is listed as Kikeroga, not Brown Bro. It also states that Wakkein will drop Solomon on Granada.

There are also character introductions and interviews with people involved, such as Director Tsurumaki and Kenshi Yonezu, which make for a very interesting read. The MS introductions are a must-read, as they carefully depict even the smallest details of the machines.

This was a brief introduction to the pamphlet.

Next is the artbook. This one has a red cover. The letters are embossed, just like the pamphlet, giving it a luxurious and elegant feel.

It contains setting drawings and detailed descriptions of the settings. It also includes a detailed depiction of the inside of the Core Fighter’s cockpit, which was not seen in the film. It also includes a hand-like interface that looks like the Psycommu in action.

In addition, there are also interviews with the director, designer, and animation director, as well as the scriptwriter and Anno, titled “Crosstalk,” which is quite interesting. When the project was first launched, the idea was “6 Gundams and 1 mobile suit will appear” (probably a rejected idea) or something like that…; I haven’t read it all yet, so I’m curious to see what happens next…

There are also detailed settings for the battleships and characters. The Big Zam’s legs are mechanical…

That’s all. SEED FREEDOM was also a hot topic at one point because its pamphlets were sold out, but we don’t know when this Sieg Axe pamphlet will be out of stock. So, it might be a good idea to buy one when you go to the theater. It will be a great keepsake, and it will help you to get a deeper understanding of the work. You might even find a hint to interpret the future story development…
