Gundam Plastic Model Package Art Gummy, Sieg Axe Attendee Gift No. 8 “Anno Hideaki’s Early Concept Plot and Setting Original Draft Materials” Review

This time, we will be introducing a review of

the Gunpla Package Art Gummy, the 8th gift for Sieg Axe attendees: “Anno Hideaki’s Initial Concept Plot and Setting Draft Materials” !

The other day, I went to see the third screening of the early-release version of “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-” in theaters , and I received the eighth gift for moviegoers there, ” ANNO SCENARIO & DESIGN WORKS 2 ” ( a deluxe booklet containing parts of Hideaki Anno’s original plot and script, as well as original setting materials from the main designers and staff), and I’d like to give a quick review of the Gunpla Package Art Gummy I also purchased at the theater.

First, a review of Gunpla Package Art Gummies.
Gunpla Package Art Gummies are orange-flavored gummies that contain package art cards covering a wide range of titles, from the latest “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM” to the first in the series, “Mobile Suit Gundam.”
The price is 165 yen (tax included) per piece, and 3,300 yen (tax included) for a box of 20.

The Art Gummy packaging illustrations are for two products: the PG UNLEASHED RX-78-2 Gundam and the HGCE Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam.
Both kits are representative of the brand’s Gunpla packaging.

The back side looks like this. Until now, Gunpla package art has had wafers as snacks (price: 132 yen each, tax included), but since 2025, they have been changed to gummies.
Personally, I would have preferred the wafers, but is this a de facto price increase; or is it becoming difficult to manufacture wafers…?
I feel like this one can be stored for a longer period of time, but the expiration date seems to be about the same for both (about 10 months)…

On the back, the lineup of Gunpla package art cards is listed.
There are a lot of SEED series, but a wide range of brands are covered, including HG Mercury Witch, HG00, HGUC, RG, and MG.
There are also some that make you think, “Haven’t we seen them before?”

Opening it. Inside was only orange-flavored gummy candies in a tray and a package art card.
I only bought two this time, but the card that came out was the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam.
I feel good, like I’ve won something (lol).

A close-up of the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam card.
In a dual-wielding pose with the anti-ship swords Futsunomitama and Akutarakeruta, the particles spewing from the Proud Defender are beautifully rendered as holograms. A high-quality card with sparkling prisms that shine when viewed from different angles.

The back of the card lists the price, release date, and description of the unit.
The description is not taken from the package or instruction manual, but is written specifically for this card.
(Sorry if it’s already written somewhere.)

The gummy candy is designed to resemble a Gundam model, with parts attached to a runner.
It’s great that there are a variety of designs available, including not only Gundam heads, but also Zaku heads and Gunpla-kun.
The taste is also good, with the sweetness and aroma of orange, and the slight astringency (bitterness?) well reproduced, making it very delicious. The
only drawback is that it’s a little difficult to remove from the tray;

The other was the packaging art for the HGFC Master Gundam & Fuun Saiki.
This one is a little less shiny than the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam, but the nebula in the background still sparkles.

Compared to past package art cards, the size and illustration specifications are almost the same.
Since there are no differences, you can continue collecting them from the wafers.

Now, we’ll briefly introduce the 8th gift for attendees of “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX -Beginning-“, ” ANNO SCENARIO & DESIGN WORKS 2 ” ( a deluxe booklet containing parts of Anno Hideaki’s initial concept plot and script, as well as original setting draft materials from the main designers and staff).

The cover features many characters from the One Year War part of Zeke Axe.
Tokuwan and Demitri are all there, but Sayla isn’t on it, and there are only Zeon characters.

The back side has Char’s Zaku, mass-produced Zaku, and a light cannon. This is a mix of Zeon and Federation.
The colors are also divided by unit.

The contents of the book include an initial greeting, a portion of Anno’s initial conceptual plot and screenplay, and over 20 pages of design work by the main designers and staff.
Parts of the plot are blacked out to avoid spoilers, and the book also includes a setting drawing of the Gun Tank, whose parts are only destroyed in the film.
In addition, the Siege Axe version of G-armor, the surprising transformation gimmick, and the settings and various gimmicks of the battleship are well worth seeing.
It is a very substantial bonus.

It’s quite ・・・・ to release this film around the time when the box-office revenue exceeded 3 billion yen;
I’m sure many of you have already seen the movie many times, but if you can get such an entrance gift, there is no way you can avoid going to see it;
If you can afford it, please go see Siege Axe Beginning again, and while you’re at it, how about some Gunpla package art?
