a review of the package and runners for the HG 1/144 MS-06-SSP Military and Police Zaku

This time, we will be introducing a review of the package and runners for the HG 1/144 MS-06-SSP Military and Police Zaku

! We will also be introducing a review of the box art, various runners, instructions, color guide, etc. Let’s start with the box art.

The package illustration shows two military and police Zakus moving through space equipped with Zaku machine guns and shields.
The pink mono-eyes shine brightly, making for an impactful illustration.
A large colony is depicted in the background, probably Side 6. It is likely a reference to the battle scene with the red Gundam at the beginning of episode 1.

The package size is the same as a regular HG. The kit itself is not particularly large, but it is a little thick overall and comes with a fair amount of weapons, so I think that’s why it’s this size. This is only the second HG Sieg Axe series, so the package design is fresh.

The side illustrations include poses using weapons, as well as a brief introduction to the movable gimmicks of each part and weapons.
The most eye-catching feature is the “police” character on the shield. Maybe it’s because it’s in kanji, so it’s easy to remember.
Even so, the poses look like those of the American special forces…

Open.

There are a total of three bags of runners.

The instruction manual is the same large B5 size as the HG Sieg Axe. At this stage, it seems that the only two Military Police Zakus that appeared in the movie are the ones shown at the beginning.
The ones that fought against the Sieg Axe and Pomeranian Zaku in Side 6 were Special Forces specifications.
This Military Police Zaku is the only one with a patrol lamp on the shoulder, so I hope it will appear in the future.

Please take a look at the instructions.

That concludes the instructions. Overall, it’s a rather unique structure not often seen in previous kits.
The color reproduction is high, and the modeling and details are good, making it a highly finished kit.
It’s a first-class model that is exactly like the specifications, and there’s nothing to complain about.
If I had to say one thing, it seems like the parts are quite stiff, so you’ll need to be careful when disassembling them to avoid damaging them.

Color guide. There are so many colors that you wonder if they really used that many;
it seems that different shades of gray are used in different parts.
However, most of the parts are color-coded and there are almost no seams, so it looks like it will be easy to paint.
The “Police” lettering has unevenness when used as a marking sticker, so I hope they release a water-transfer Gundam decal soon.

Now let’s take a quick look at each runner.

↑ Runner A. It is a colored plastic runner in blue, dark blue, and clear red, and contains the head, torso, and exterior arm parts.

↑ Runner B. Dark blue plastic model, including internal and joint parts of the torso, arms, legs, hand parts, etc. Made of KPS material.

↑ Runners C and E. Runner C is molded in dark blue and features the inner and outer arm and leg parts. Made of KPS material. Runner
E is molded in grey and features the Zaku machine gun, heat hawk, and electromagnetic baton parts. Made of KPS material.

↑ Runner D. The exterior parts for the arms and legs are molded in blue.

↑F, G, H runners, marking stickers; F is purple-gray chest parts; G is blue molded color shoulder parts; H is blue molded color arm and leg parts.

That’s all. As you can see from the runners, the variations are ready to be expanded.
The spherical parts of the thighs, head and arm parts can be changed by switches.
So I think it is safe to assume that Shaar Zaku, Special Forces specification, civilian Zaku, etc. will be made into kits.
The question is whether they will be general or pre-ban, but it seems that the regular Zaku and Shaar Zaku will be general. The civilian types will be pre-ban ・・・・?
