HG Mobile Worker MW-01 01 Type Late Model (Mash) Review

This is a review of the HG Mobile Worker MW-01 Type 01 Late Model (Mash’s machine).

The whole body. Since it’s not a mobile suit but a mobile worker, a work machine, it has a unique silhouette that is far removed from a normal human form.

The rear. The yellow and black warning colors on each part are unique.

The face. The design is somewhat reminiscent of the old Zaku, which would later be connected to it.

As usual, the monoeye can be moved by opening the top cover with a sticker and turning the knob.

Each part, etc. Because it is HG, the pilot is not reproduced, but there is a window in the cockpit as it is a work machine. There is a wire hook on the abdomen.

The waist area. There is no armor or anything like that, so it looks neat.

The cockpit is made up of two parts, and when you remove the inner part the roof and side windows are exposed.

Arms and legs. The right arm is a giant claw. The leg pipes are made of soft rubber. The yellow and black warning colors of each part are stickers.

The three claws can move independently, and the forearms are lockable, just like the Prototype Gouf.

The left hand is a normal manipulator type. However, the back has a noticeable hole for the shaft connection.

The fusion reactor on his back is used to power the robot. The pipes are also made of rubber.

From below too.

The joints are basically the same as a normal MS. The neck, shoulders and hips can be extended, and the knee pipes are made of soft rubber so they don’t affect movement.

The hips swing just a little. The ankles move well and the toes turn, so the ground contact is excellent. The poly parts are from the PC132, which is a little older.

option.

Marking sticker.

Shield equipped.

The shield originally featured on the early model is included.

The back side. It was treated as a bonus, but the colors were well-coded.

This is the Early Model Guntank, which was used in the same era. Compared to the Guntank, it walks properly on two legs and seems to have evolved significantly.

The arms are interchangeable with the Prototype Gouf, allowing the Mobile Worker to be equipped with two manipulator arms.

Just a few at a time.

Dash. Although the body shape is unique, the mobility is generally the same as a normal MS, so you can recreate the running movement seen in the trailer.

Claw attack. At first glance it doesn’t look like it has a neck, but it can be pulled out, so the head can move normally.

The waist can also rotate. The shoulders are fine, but the knee pipes tend to come off when moved, which was quite troublesome.

The right arm clearly looks like a weapon, but the excuse could be made that it’s for use in work.

Although its legs are short, it can still kick and balance on one leg.

Even with the shield equipped. The grip can be fixed by firmly fitting your wrist, but it will loosen quickly if you move it.

Perhaps it’s because this one has more appearances, but Ral’s suit, whose pilot is more well-known than Mash’s, will be made a Premium Bandai exclusive…

In the movie, it seems that an early model Mobile Worker will do the job, but it will face off against an early model Guntank.

The above is a review of the HG Mobile Worker MW-01 Type 01 Late Type (Mash machine).

As the name suggests, it is not a mobile suit, but a mobile worker, a work machine, so it does not have the refined look of a normal MS, but the rugged design with its Zaku-like head, exposed cockpit, and hooks was fresh and interesting.
The movement of the legs was a bit of a problem in that the pipes on the legs come off easily, but the shoulders and hip joints are retractable, and the hips rotate properly, so I think this kit moves better than it looks and is quite excellent in terms of playability.
It is a mystery how much use it will be in the second episode of the origin story, but it is an interesting machine with various features not found in ordinary MSs, so I recommend it to those who like this kind of special mecha.
