1/100 Gundam Barbatos Review

This is a review of the 1/100 Gundam Barbatos.

The whole body. The proportions seem a little more massive than the HG. There are more color schemes, but there are still a lot of stickers, so it’s like an enlarged version of the HG.

Face. Unlike the HG, the grey mask is now colour-coded. However, the antennae remain solid yellow and no stickers are included.

The facial features are not particularly different from the HG version, but this time the twin eyes are color-coded and there are no stickers.

From below. The mask part is easy to come off and the parts are small, so if you’re not interested in the frame, it might be better to glue it on.

Each part, etc. The coloring of the torso is the same as the HG, and the mark in the center is a sticker.

Around the waist. The side armor is color-coded, unlike the HG version, which was a sticker.

Arms and legs. Unlike the HG, the black calves are color-coded, but the yellow shoulders are stickers, which is disappointing. There are also no stickers on the black thighs.

On the back. Just like the HG, there are two holes on the left and right for weapon attachment. There is also a hole on the waist, but there is no particular use for it this time.

The central thruster is movable.

The mobility is similar to that of the HG model, but the shoulder armor can move independently, so it can be raised quite a bit with the armor still attached.

Elsewhere it was slightly inferior to the HG in that there was a restriction on the rotation of the ankles and waist, but the elbows and knees were almost the same.

The cylinder gimmick in the abdomen has been properly recreated, improving the twisting of the waist both forward, backward, and side to side.

option.

The glide gun and sword are equipped on the back. They are attached using the same joints as the HG.

Unlike the HG model, the glide cannon can be transformed from its stored form to its firing form without any parts replacement, but the black covers on the arms and base are replaceable.

Unfolded state. It was disappointing that the white was reproduced with a sticker, just like the HG option set.

The connecting arm to the back is the same as the HG version in that it comes with two different lengths, but this one is slightly better made as both balls at the connection points can move.

Long sword. This one is also single colored like the HG. The mace that came with the HG was not included. The gauntlet is attached to the Graze.

Next is the Gundam frame state.

The face. This time, it seems that this is also an official gimmick, and an antenna for use in frame form is included.

The mask can also be removed.

Each part, etc. Gold stickers for the frame to be attached to parts such as the chest, hip joints, and legs are also included.

Around the waist. This part is also more natural than in the HG version.

Arms and legs. Wrists and ankles can also be completely removed from the armor.

Back. There is a gold sticker on the rear armor as well.

Since it is 1/100 scale, the size is the same as a regular MG, but the sense of precision is different compared to MG.

Also, there is a difference in build when comparing with HG.

Just a few at a time.

The smoothbore cannon is now movable so that it can recreate the deployment sequence seen in the movie.

Since it is 1/100 it is heavier, but the weapon is originally light and there is an arm on the back so it didn’t give way to the shoulders.

Like the HG, it has a very high level of contact with the ground, so you can be stable even with your feet spread apart. It also has a flat hand grip, so both hands can be placed naturally.

The glide cannon is connected to an arm, so movement is somewhat limited. It’s easy to point it inwards, but a little difficult to point it outwards.

Also, this time there are no joints for the action base, so you have to use the ones that come with the action base, which is a bit of a hassle.

It can also be kneeling. It would have been nice if they had included the blue Graze shoulder parts, as they’ve become standard equipment recently.

Exchange for a sword.

The shoulders are almost the same as the HG, so it’s easy to hold with both hands. The waist can bend about 30 degrees as it is, but if you lift it a little, you can bend it 90 degrees.

Although the angle depends on the angle, it is possible to shoot from above with the shoulder armor attached, which was not possible with HG.

Downward slash. Just like the HG version, there is no forward extension, so it was barely possible to hold it with both arms extended.

Since there is no gauntlet, it is impossible to recreate the first form, but it can be seen with the shoulder armor removed.

In the fourth form, the sword may become the main weapon, but it’s still disappointing that the mace, which has been the main weapon up until now, is not included.

This is a review of the 1/100 Gundam Varvatos.

Although there were a few areas where I was a little concerned about the color scheme, such as the yellow shoulders and black thighs, the gimmick of the frame was more advanced than that of the HG, and it can be reproduced in its complete state, making 1/100 a unique 1/100 model with its own charm.
The shoulder structure has been further upgraded from the HG, and it can move widely even with the armor attached, and the glide gun deployment gimmick can now be reproduced.
But to be honest, the main attraction of this time was the frame, and there were many dissatisfying points such as the shoulder and glide gun are stickers and the mace is not attached to this size.
