Here’s a look at my take on recreating the Prototype Gundam using the HGUC 1/144 Revive series. The goal was to keep it simple yet striking.
The Build Process
I’d never tackled this one properly before, so I dove in with fresh eyes. After studying the details, I tweaked things like the arm slits, ankles, rifle, and hip armor. The rifle was the toughest part, but I managed to nail most of the changes I aimed for.
Before painting, I made some adjustments to give the Revive a sleeker look—raising the instep height and slimming down the shoulder armor made a big difference. Check out the posed photo; it’s clean and packs a punch.
Since it’s a smaller kit, I focused on fine details to boost the sense of scale. One trick I shared online was carving grooves freehand with a spring compass—no guide tape needed. It’s held up flawlessly for six years, so I’d recommend giving it a try.
Wrapping Up
This Prototype Gundam means a lot to me, especially after stumbling twice before on the Revive kit. I’m thrilled to finally get it right. Hope this inspires fans of sharp, no-fuss Gundam builds. Thanks for reading!
