This time, we will be introducing a review of the package and runners for the HGUC 1/144 MRX-010 Psycho Gundam Mk-II ! We will also be introducing a review of the box art, various runners, instructions, color guide, etc. Let’s start with the box art.

The package illustration shows the Psycho Gundam Mk-II with its arms outstretched, storing beam energy in various parts of its body. It is an illustration that gives a sense of power and realism as it attacks the Zeta Gundam.
In the background, Pallas Athene and Bound Dock (Gates Capa’s personal machine) are also drawn, so it is likely based on a scene from the movie Mobile Suit Z Gundam. “… I feel sorry for you, but I’m going to hit you directly…!”

The package size is so large that it makes the MG Ver.Ka look small.
As an HG model, it is comparable in size to the Nightingale.
It is thinner than the recent HGCE Destroy Gundam, about 1.5cm taller.

The side view features many small framed images of the Mk-II’s fine details, as well as images of it transforming into MA form (Mobile Fortress form) and some stunning poses using the effect parts and reflector bits.

Opening. There is cardboard in the center to divide the space, and the runners are nicely organized.
The cardboard on the outside is also thicker than normal cardboard. The package is strong enough to hold a large amount of runners.

There are a total of 12 bags of runners.

The instruction manual is large B5 size. Because it is a large kit, there are many assembly steps, and because it has a transformation mechanism, it is in booklet format.
The instruction manual alone is quite thick and heavy;
Please take a look at the instructions.

That concludes the instructions. The structure is somewhat complicated, with a transformation gimmick and the color coding of each part of the body reproduced in detail with parts.
Despite that, it is a well-made kit that is sturdy and easy to handle.
…But, these days, everything is at this level.
It takes time to assemble because it’s complicated, but there are plenty of gimmicks, so there’s a lot to enjoy after assembly.
By the way, it took me about five and a half hours to assemble it while I was writing this article;

Color guide. There are a fair number of colors, but I think it’s a little easier to mix colors than the HG Mercury Witch or HG SEED FREEDOM series. It
‘s a large kit, and the color reproduction of the parts is high, and there are almost no seams, so it looks like it will be easy to paint.
However, I think you’ll need a lot of paint, so I think it’s a good idea to make some extra when mixing colors.
Now let’s take a quick look at each runner.

Runner A. A purple, purple-gray, and metallic pink colored plastic runner with the head and torso parts.
The purple-gray molded parts are made of KPS material.

↑B1 and B2 runners. Purple-grey molding on the torso, inside the arms, exterior of the legs, shield parts, etc. Made of KPS material.

↑ Runner C. A purple, purple-gray, red, and yellow colored plastic runner with inner and outer arm parts and various mega beam cannon parts.
The purple-gray molded color parts are made of KPS material. A runner reused from
the HG Typhoeus Gundam Chimera .

↑ D runner. Molded in purple-grey, it contains the inner and outer arm parts and reflector bit parts. It is made of KPS material, and there are two of the same piece.
This is also a reused runner from the HG Typhoeus Gundam Chimera.

↑ E1 runner. These are the hand parts, molded in light grey. Made of KPS material.

↑ Runner F. The fuselage exterior and back stabilizer parts are molded in purple.

↑ G Runner. The exterior parts for the torso and legs are molded in purple.

↑H runner. The shoulder and leg exterior parts are molded in purple. There are two of the same piece.

↑ Runner I. Molded in purple, it includes the head and shoulder exterior parts, the back thruster unit parts, and the shield parts. There are two of the same piece.

↑J runner. The internal leg and joint parts are molded in light grey. They are made of KPS material and there are two identical pieces.

↑K1 runner. Molded in light grey, it includes the head, internal torso parts, back thruster unit parts, and shield joint parts. Made of KPS material.

↑K2, L2 runner. K2 is the same as part of K1. L2 is molded in purple, with exterior arm parts, etc. There are two of the same thing.

↑M1 and M2 runners. Molded in red, they include the torso molded parts, stabilizers, arms, and back thruster unit parts.

↑ N1 and N2 runners. Molded in yellow, they include molded parts for the head, collar, legs and back stabilizer, as well as mega beam cannon parts on various parts of the body.

↑SB-11, SB-13 runners, 2 lead wires. Both SB-11 and SB-13 are molded in clear yellow, and SB-11 has a beam sword blade part. There are two of the same. SB-13 has a mega beam cannon effect part on the fingertip. There are three of the same.

↑ACB-4A/B runner. Molded in clear, it includes the Action Base 4’s support pillars and various joint parts.

↑ACB-BA runner, foil sticker. ACB-BA is the bottom plate part of the action base. There are three identical pieces.

↑BA-16 runner. The support pillars, bottom plate, and joint parts for the weapon display base are molded in clear color. There are two identical pieces.

↑This is what it looks like when all the runners are stacked. I don’t think there are many of them, so maybe they’re poisoned, but they’re probably paralyzed;
so that’s probably correct. However, there are a lot of old kits, such as the Hizack, so I’d like to see them remade if possible.
The other day it was announced that the SEED DESTINY models will be revived as HGCE, so I’d love to see the old HGUC models revived as well.
