About the Series

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny
This sequel is set two years after the events of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. It depicts the renewed war between ZAFT and the Earth Army from the perspective of Shin Asuka, a ZAFT soldier whose family was killed by the Earth Alliance. Also features appearances by Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala, and Lacus Clyne, who appeared in the previous film and fought alongside each other in the final battle, struggling to end the war from their own perspectives and ideals. The series boasts the same popularity as its predecessor, with new characters including Rey Za Burrel and Lunamaria Hawke.

This is a review of METAL BUILD Strike Freedom Gundam [METAL BUILD FESTIVAL 2024].

The whole body without wings. The design is the same as the normal version released in 2015. The coloring has been renewed to commemorate the METAL BUILD FESTIVAL 2024.

With wings and rifle attached. The overall color is brighter than normal, and the proportion of gold markings has increased, making it more flashy.

Face. Compared to other figures, the top of the head is longer and has a unique contour, but the sharp eyes and well-balanced mask give it a good-looking face.

The eyes are painted metallic as usual, and the grey on the cheeks and the paint around the ducts and other fine details are also accurately done.

From below too.

Each part, etc. The shape of the body is the same as the normal one. The proportion of gold is high in the abdominal beam cannon, ducts, and gaps in the sides, and new gold markings have been added to the chest.

Around the waist. The markings on the right front armor and the molding in the center of the waist are gold, making it more flashy than the normal version. The gray color has also changed from the normal version.

Arms and legs. The large shoulder armor and thick limbs give it a massive body shape. Gold markings and paint have been added to these areas as well.

The shoulder markings are asymmetrical. Previously they were grey, but now they are gold.

The fins on the legs are deployable.

The gimmick around the waist is the same as the normal one, with sliding side armor and rail cannons, and rifles on both sides under normal conditions.

On the rear are side armor and a Xiphias 3 rail cannon.

The rail gun’s sliding gimmick remains unchanged.

The rail gun can be deployed as is.

back.

The thrusters can move both up and down.

The wings are deployed. The wings also have more gold markings, making them more flashy than before.

It is also possible to open the front and rear wings slightly in a V-shape.

The upper black part is also movable.

The Dragoons can also be deployed in a slightly offset position.

Various Dragoon fixing arms. These were previously white, but have now been changed to black.

A complete set of stands. The base is now black, and it also comes with a sub-support that wasn’t there before.

Beam rifle. When you put it on your waist, you insert it by lifting the pin at the back.

The connected state. The gimmick is the same as the normal one.

Beam shield. Painted over clear parts for a great look.

The back side. The base is a ball joint so you can adjust the direction and angle.

Like the standard model, it comes with an arm for fixing the Dragoon. This is used in combination with the base.

The normal version. As with the METAL ROBOT Spirits 20th Anniversary Ver., the proportion of gold has been increased to make it more flashy than the normal version, as it is a commemorative item. Also, the colors of all the parts have been changed this time, and the overall color is brighter than before.

The back. Which is better depends on the person, but I personally like the blue color better on this one.

Freedom CONCEPT 2 SNOW SPARKLE Ver. I imagined the color would be similar to this one, but it was completely different.

The cross shot remains the same even in Nishiki. The shape is the same as the normal version, so the movement is also the same.

Title sequence. The joints are very stiff, just like Metal Build.

The linked rifle is heavy, so it was difficult to hold without using one hand.

The Dragoon is slid open to create a pseudo full burst.

Another angle. It’s unclear whether the Wings of Light version of this FES2024 edition will be released, but they may release it again someday when Nishiki is released.

The beam sabers are painted over clear coat, just like the normal ones.

The waist area has a complex structure, but the neck and waist can also rotate freely.

I finished using the normal Wings of Light. This concludes my review of the METAL BUILD Strike Freedom Gundam [METAL BUILD FESTIVAL 2024].
I already have the normal version of the Metal Build Strike Freedom, and it has gone up in price considerably since then, so I hesitated a bit, but the normal version was released in 2015, which is a long time ago, and I don’t have the SOUL BLUE, and I personally have the impression that the painting technology of Metal Build has improved since the old days, so I bought it.
The design is the same as before, but since it is an event commemorative item, there is much more gold paint and markings than the normal version, and the overall color is brighter, so it is more gorgeous and has a coolness that is a little different from the normal version.
However, although the product was good, I think it was a bit strange that it sold out in less than an hour during the first-come-first-served sale of Ocean or above, which was limited to one per person, so I feel that they should have produced a few more.
