| “Lancelot Albion” has finally appeared from METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE. The full-body movement mechanism, born from DRAGON SCALE series’ concept of “movable exterior” and “internal structure of the soul,” allows for the expression of superhuman martial arts appropriate for the Knight of Zero, “Suzaku Kururugi.” The die-cast parts in various places that support the full-body movement mechanism, the gold expressed in various colors, the white of the whole body with pearl colors in various places, and the clear parts that reproduce the brilliance of Blaze Luminous. The texture expression that has been carefully crafted everywhere realizes the ultimate appearance suitable for the Knight of Zero. The new heroic figure of “Lancelot Albion” is manifested by the original ver. A.N.I.M.E. presented by METAL BUILD, such as the MVS sheath deployment frame, the Super Valis suspension frame, and the Energy Wing Float Mode. |

This is a review of METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE Lancelot Albion.

The whole body. It has been arranged quite strongly, with the proportions becoming more massive and a lot of detail added. The white is also made with multiple colors such as gloss and pearl, giving it a luxurious texture.

The face. There aren’t any major changes to the head, but the face is slightly longer and the gold part on the forehead is larger, so the balance has been adjusted in small ways.

The eyes are painted metallic as usual, and the details are painted carefully. The antennae on the back of the head can move slightly back and forth.

Each part, etc. The balance of the body shape has been considerably adjusted, making it thicker and more powerful. The tip shape is sharp, and the clear parts look beautiful and good.

Waist.

Arms and legs. The shoulder armor has been enlarged, the limbs have become thicker, and the addition of sharp moldings gives it a very powerful impression. Two shades of gold are used to emphasize the three-dimensional effect.

The armor on the front and back of the shoulder armor can be opened, and when the shoulder armor is raised, the gold inside pops out.

The Land Spinner can be deployed as is.

On the back. Next to the backpack is the MVS sheath, and on the waist is the Super Valis suspension frame.

When the backpack is lowered, the back collar pops out and the neck tilts forward. The cockpit can also be opened and closed.

The interior of the cockpit is also accurately reproduced, including the monitors and seats.

All MVS, Valis, etc. have been removed.

The neck and waist can swing widely, the shoulders can be raised high, and the elbows and knees can be bent deeply.

The hip joints can move widely in all directions, and the ankles are also retractable, so the foot is quite stable. However, the joints and ankles are a little loose, so it seems a little dangerous to stand on its own for a long time without assistance.

It also has a unique gimmick that allows the shin area to twist slightly inward and outward.

option.

Wing effect. In the photo below, it looks very blue due to the background and lighting, but when viewed under normal lighting, it was the same green color as in the movie.

Complete pedestal.

The MVS sheath is connected to a hanging arm, and can be brought to the side of the waist by moving the arm.

The MVS handle comes with a movable type in addition to the one stored in the sheath, and by attaching a blade to this it is completed.

A red blade in activated state is also included.

The movable handle can also be stored in the sheath while still open.

The Super Valis is attached to the waist using a suspended frame.

This one is also connected to an arm, and can be deployed forward by moving the arm.

By raising the grip, you can hold it in your hand while it is still connected to the arm.

It can also be removed from the arm and held in your hand. This is the normal mode.

Hadron mode with the barrel and muzzle open vertically;

It was also possible to open the muzzle even further into full burst mode.

Slash harken. This one is for the arm,

A waist strap is included. The wire is a stiff lead wire, allowing for free movement. Auxiliary supports are also included, but were hardly needed.

The claws at the tip are the ones attached to the main body. They can be deployed as is.

Blaze Luminous. Gradient paint is applied over the clear parts, making it very beautiful.

The back side. To attach it, replace the forearm armor with one with a hole and insert it in.

The energy wing with the effect attached. It is heavy, but there is a lock at the base so the angle can be maintained without assistance.

The back. As mentioned above, the background and lighting give it a strong blue tinge, but the actual color was blue-green, just like in the movie.

The wing effect uses two pieces, one large and one small. There is a lock at the base, so you can choose from three different angles.

The connection part can move back and forth and can also rotate. The two central points of the wing can also move back and forth and up and down.

The wing effect also comes with a float type, which is a flight-only mode that prioritizes energy efficiency.

The gap in the center of the wing can be closed with a crank. This is only possible when the wing is floating, as it interferes with the normal wing.

The Guren Seiten Hakkyokushiki. The Guren was also massively arranged, but Albion stood out more due to differences in the original designs.

METAL ROBOT Spirits. When you compare it with this one, you can see that it has a much stronger arrangement. The white color is also a big change from previous 3D models.

The stand joints on the Guren model were quite prone to coming loose and were dangerous, but this time they have been improved and can now be firmly fixed in place.

Super Valis can be switched between three modes without replacing parts.

It was also possible to hold it while it was connected to the arm, like a Vesbar.

The MVS is unsheathed while deploying the Blaze Luminous. The MVS’s sheath is now connected to the arm, allowing for unprecedented movement.

The energy wing was also able to be moved greatly in direction and angle.

Slash piton injection. It says to use auxiliary supports, but it was light so I didn’t need them.

Just like in the movie, the energy wing can also be deployed forward to form a shield.

The neck and waist can also rotate well, so you can recreate the famous kick. However, the joints were loose overall this time, and the waist also easily bent backwards, so it was impossible to keep the figure leaning forward.

A showdown with Guren Seiten Hakkyokushiki. Guren’s pedestal is from Kampfer.

It ends with a launch pose using the special wrists. This concludes the review of METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE Lancelot Albion.
Thanks to Metal Build’s unique arrangement, the proportions are much more massive than in the movie, the details have been greatly increased, the shapes of each part are sharp, and multiple colors such as gloss and pearl are used, and the white texture that changes color depending on the angle is beautiful. Personally, I think it is one of the coolest Metal Builds to date.
The mobility is also good overall, and new mechanisms have been incorporated, such as the shins rotating inward and outward, so it is possible to reproduce almost all of the impressive movements in the movie, and the MVS and Super Valis are now connected to the arms, allowing for unique movements, and the energy wing is easy to use, so there was nothing wrong with the posing.
However, the joints were a little loose overall this time, and the ankles in particular were unstable, perhaps because they were pull-out joints, so it was scary to leave it standing on its own for long periods of time, and since the design means that if it were to fall forward, the tip of the chest would be crushed and the unit would be finished, I would have liked the joints to be adjusted more firmly.
